If you are a REALTOR then www.REALTOR.com is YOUR name. It doesn't really "belong" to a company to charge working REALTORS as much as possible for what already should simply belong to them. MOVE, the company that has a license from NAR to use the name is in business to charge brokers and agents as much as much as the traffic will bear. And to use the site to sell other advertising. They aren't "bad people". They are business people, just like you and me - saddled with an unworkable agreement. Unworkable for them and for us. The usual reaction to this - from brokers and agents ranges from complete apathy to outrage.
When it comes to residential real estate it is still the most recognized and most respected name in the world. I want the National Association of REALTORS to fully reclaim REALTOR.com. Take it back and make it a member benefit. Period.
